Alright dudes, I am excited about this update to AoM, who's all getting this game? Maybe we can set up some matches (for when it gets released)

Soup's already been kind enough to buy me a copy for my birthday, we had it when we were younger!...but lost it some time ago. The game is an absolute classic, and hasn't really aged as much as you'd think seeing as it was made like 15 years ago.

Hoping they might make some changes: Greeks were pretty OP, especially Hades with his passive power - where his fallen soldiers had something stupid like 1 in 3 chance of coming back as badass shades.

balance changes are something i'd like to see, as well as maybe some fixed to buggy game mechanics. that's something they didn't do with aoe2 hd. but it looks like they're putting more effort into this aom port.

i will be buying it either way

So you won't be able to use the original disc to match up with steam players?

don't think that's possible seeing as how this is a heavily modified version of the original game. it's basically like trying to get two clients on the same game but different patch numbers connected.

maybe there's some way to input old cd-keys to get a free or discounted copy, but i doubt it

I might end up getting it regardless, considering the microsoft servers are no longer available for it. Though I know I did the same thing for AoE2 and barely clocked 2 hours on it.

well aoe2 hd is still very active and available for you to play whenever you want. i still play it.

also, if you want to play AoM classic , there are 7 open lobbies in gameranger as i'm writing this. so it's still somewhat active
