if my computer wasn't so half decent i probably would've pre-ordered it. instead i guess i'm gonna have to put the money towards a new comp and wait for cv1. i'm sure it'll be worth the wait but this is the most difficult technology to wait for in years.

It's for the best. The Occultist Rift was literally the anti-christ anyway.

Also the amount of bottombother on /v/ (and spilling over onto other boards) is pretty much bananas.

here's what the OR creator has to say regarding the matter

i think he's being a little too optimistic about facebook not interfering with their vision

only time will tell

Friendly reminder that it's totally okay to hate Silicon Valley and all the Gen-Xers who currently work there.

I'm glad I didn't spend any money on oculus rift because even if the devs still have control, if the community pulls support I doubt it'll end well for the consumer version (whenever it comes out).

Really it's just an issue of bad branding. That neogaf Makise avatar guy says that people wouldn't care if Google bought them, but I think that would be just as scary really. Some serious Orwell-Huxley shit is going to go down in these next few years.
