If you've ever seen the originals or the films, you know the basic story - Humans are under threat by an alien race, a war that started decades ago and has ravaged planet Earth and humanity to near extinction. But humanity is sent a message from the distant Iscandar, with a piece of technology that will allow them to have a second chance at survival. That technology is on the ship Yamato, and the show is about its journey through space in an attempt to reach Iscandar and stop the Gamilans' assault on Earth.

This series is already on its 2nd season (18 of 26 episodes aired), but i just had to make a topic about it. It's a faithful retelling of the space opera with amazing animation, sfx and story. Even if you don't like giant space battles, i would recommend it. if you do like giant space battles, please don't skip this one.
