What a bummer. Finally all motivated to get my shit together, make a demo reel, animations, have my gf helping me with my website and trying to figure out how to get my name out there and the thing breaks. Sucks.

So basically I was wondering because I am a poor as shit motherfucker if its worth saving up for an Intuos 5 or if I should just save the money and get my ol standard Intuos 3. It lasted me 7 years so the thing was pretty sturdy. But is the Intuos 5 worth an extra 300$?

Wade is not gay, read his profile! It's sad that you would use sexual orientation as a joke, shows that you have no real sense of humor.

But seriously I can't tell if that was a legitimate response or if you were referencing my first topic

I've tried the new ones....they tend to be overly sensitive and I hate the fact that its actually hand/touch active on the surface now so unless you turn that off you cant place your hand resting on the tablet or move as you draw because it reads that as a flick sign and the canvas spins sideways in photoshop which really pissed me off haha. The benefits of the extra zooms and pressure touches (you can use styluses that mimic paint brush tips) didn't sway me very much and so going into it knowing only the intuos 3 I had a bit of a re-learning curb with the item before I got it right. And even then it was like "why would i pay extra for features I ended up turning off?" <--i was trying it out in a creative lab in a college I never got the 5. but yeah if you just want to save money take the 3 and its great (i still have mine, even though I use a cintiq now, for when I have to take it on the go to another computer and its just such a die-hard)....but if you have extra funds to buy the Newest THING then sure why not (just don't expect a huge jump in anything with the product). Hope that helps CDM!! :]

i have the 4 and it does not respond to hand gestures. i wonder if you can turn that off on the 5, that sounds really annoying.

CoolDrMoney
