@creamcorn  the $5 pass just lets you play Arena Commander with the default ship - you don't actually own the ship you fly. the $45 pass comes with your own Aurora

they're two totally different games

also star citizen is still in alpha whereas E:D is (supposedly) a finished game

there's not much to wrap your head around currently. there's only a few things available right now: dogfighting (vs AI  or matchmaking), racing, and free flight. i think the fps module is sort of there but not complete yet

They keep saying the FPS module is getting released SOON but as always, they always keep fucking around with it and chopping through graphical bugs that their sloppy movement system creates. I can't imagine the FPS module feeling "tight and smooth" when I move around in the hangar module.

Needless to say I'm skeptical of the entire movement system and hope they know how much of detriment the high level detail they put into it might become.
