i quite like the characters for some reason

"He was shown the smallness and tinsel emptiness of the little Earth gods, with their petty, human interests and connections - their hatreds, rages, loves and vanities; their craving for praise and sacrifice and their demands for faiths contrary to reason and nature."

"...it stimulates the part of the brain called "shatners-bassoon", and that's the bit of the brain that deals with...time perception..."

where at if you don't mind me asking? if you were a freshman in my class you'd have been one of the best artists there.

soup

nono its cool, im at the university of dundee haha

and thank you kindly. ive always loved illustration so i think i just got in a lot of practice early on

ovc there are kids on the course already doing big photo-realistic paintings, so i guess i just gotta keep practising haha

i say stick with what you're doing. there's a time and place for photorealism/conceptart.org stuff, but those kinds of artists are dime a dozen. a lot of the digital ones heavily rely on photo matte painting and stamp usage to get their look. to me there's something really cheap about that. don't get too intimidated by that kind of stuff.

anyway, i keep forgetting you live in the UK. i'm not familiar with the school, but that shouldn't be a surprise.

Tardigrade

I really like the third one out of those you previously posted, the design of the creature on the left is neat. Is it one of your own designs or is it from something else?

soup

yeh i just made it up. i wanted it to look loud and obnoxious so i gave it a big mouth hahaa.

also btw im having a problem exporting gifs on flash cs3

heres the swf

http://www.thebackalleys.com/dump/files/3048/805p4F_HEAD%20CRACK%20FINAL.swf

heres the gif

i cant get rid of the nodes/dont know why theyre even appearing. what can i do to solve this.

they're appearing because flash is a piece of fucking shit. if you have adobe media encoder, that can still export gifs. if you export this as a mov and run it through AME, you can still get a gif out of it. i know it's an extra step, but i never use flash to export anything if i don't have to. i'd also run the swf through swivel instead of using flash's exporter.

dilly

impressive as always!

I especially like the three robot guys getting shot at from a post earlier. I want to see adventures of them because they're cute :D

<@reptilicus> am I in backwards land?
