Funny thing is, all of these are gifts; including the big Buddha.

Not really a toy but:

Yup, that's right: An actual North Vietnamese Army Cap Badge dated back from the ol' war! Doesn't have the pincap on the back so I can't attach it to anything yet but maybe one day I'll get it fixed with one. They also had North Vietnamese Navy and Airforce cap badges, but I could really only afford one so, I obviously picked the cool Red Army one. It's originally from a peaked cap obviously and the circular emblem is attached via a small screw so it spins around if not pinned to anything.

I kinda wish I had a better quality camera and not just my 3DS here, so you could see all the details and indentures.

you put the cat in the picture on purpose, shame on you

Flea market. Guy selling lots of war stuff. he had some Austrian medals circa 1902, Nazi German Passports, Imperial Japanese Army Medals, and of course North Vietnamese Army Stuff, including not only this badge but two navy and an airforce badge along with collar badges worn by officers. He also had some U.S Army stuff from like WWII but who cares about that stuff I mean come on.

But yeah, some guys had brought a lot of these back and got through some collector circles to there and now here I am!

edit: yeah, I just looked it up and it's definitely real! They wore these on helmets too. Also there were versions without the weaves.

The design is similar to the N. Vietnamese Emblem except it has less enthusiasm on the gear and more focus on the star, also the crops are not present. The emblem of modern Vietnam is the same only except with a different or perhaps just modified motto.

i have a ussr medal laying around

it makes the shitty hat pins or whatever look like crap

they're really well-made

more impressive than my air force service medal for sure

Those reds are great at making these sort of things aren't they

Also on closer inspection I DO have the rear nut on the screw, it just wasn't on tight enough. The weaves can be taken off like in the previous image I posted from google images. Now that I centered and tightened it, it doesn't spin and stays exactly as it is~ c:
