Looking back through some of my old messages on Newgrounds, I'm shocked at some of the stuff I had just completely forgot about. There was a guy who wanted to use Fred the Beard for a huge marketing campaign for Target that I think was supposed to tie in to shaving products. I looked up his name today and judging from his linkedin account he seems pretty legit. He had signed up Newgrounds the same day he sent me the message and doesn't seem to have done anything since.

It never ended up working out because I told him the music was created by someone else who had just recently died of a brain tumor. Because of this I felt weird about this video that I had just made on a whim in one weekend being used for advertising. I don't know if he ever tried to get in contact with the musician's family after that but I never heard from him again. Now I have to wonder how things would have worked out differently if he was alive.

Remembering these old messages really makes me realize how naive I was back then. Something like this now would get my bullshit radar beeping like crazy. But back then I was telling my family how cool it was gonna be that I was gonna be in a documentary...

ok here i go. i started actually going through some messages and taking screenshots. i still have 17 pages of pm's to go through, but here are some gems from the ones i've gone through already.

this all started when the ss started poking a little fun at him. he went into a fury and wrote a news post about how he is super popular and is therefore better than all of us. one of his arguing points was that his website got 25,000 visits in a single month!!! the problem with this is 2 things: 25,000 visits in a month is not a lot, and 25,000 visits are not 25,000 unique hits, which probably means only around 2,500 people actually went to his site in that month. after explaining this to him, he got very angry...

VERY angry...

i'm not sure what i was even saying to him at this point but i think i was "playing along" with the whole "fight me irl" thing and he was taking the bit seriously

beginning to fizzle...

Doesn't he realize that newgrounds has a review section for each flash entry or was the whole idea of leaving a standard review for all to see too "gay" for him?

he probably wanted to make sure that i would actually see his message, and thought it was important enough to pm it to me. you get alerts about pm's , reviews just kind of happen, and i definitely didn't read them all.

This was a guy I just wanted to fuck with. I just kept talkin like an idiot and then commented on every word he misspelled. He never seemed to catch on. His big revenge was reviewing 2 of my movies with "0"s.

This one didn't really have to do with me but cracks me up every time.
