this is what i played over the last week or so.  it's a retail sim by genre, however, that kinda played second fiddle to the character development, in my experience.  the short time you do spend with the characters is really involved, evoking sympathy for anyone who has to resort to this line of business to provide or survive. 

the retail stuff is really complicated, but that worked for me.  anyway, it's free, it's fun, and i'd recommend it to anyone with some time on their hands and an interest in small, character driven games.
