Nothing wrong on your side; I just couldn't figure out how to get some pressure-sensitive thing to work correctly, and kept bouncing from program to program.
I forget which program wasn't letting me control the size of the pencil tool. Maybe Shi-Painter.

i know with jtablet installed chibipaint will do it automatically, and then shida mentioned another one also supports it if you turn on some option. but i can't remember what it was

If you have jTablet installed. On the top right hand corner of a shipainter/shipainter pro canvas is a 'P'. Click on it and you can switch on pressure sensitivity for shipainter =)
