So this thread is meant only for posting links, not discussion? I suppose it's a bit difficult to discuss Pop music in depth without referencing publications. Is anyone here classically trained or versed in music theory? Not that I consider composition in particular to be a comparatively interesting topic of conversation.

In the interest of making a contribution, I will mention that Terre Thaemlitz put out a new mix CD recently as DJ Sprinkles. In some ways I find Terre's writing and theories regarding music to be more engrossing than the music itself, especially considering most of the media I enjoy is imported from elsewhere. Make no mistake, I definitely wouldn't make this recommendation if I didn't find the music pleasant. The CD is called Where Dancefloors Stand Still, if anyone's interested.

I don't listen to a lot of club music, or music in general really, so my recommendations can't count for very much.

this thread is mainly for just showing off the songs you like

you can talk about music if you'd like. my only rule is 1 song per post. if you want to post more don't make them as videos (use https). it clutters up the page and makes it load horribly slow
