i don't really see how this counters nicole's point then but whatever

i'm not attempting to counter his point, he's right - halo is repetitive. you shoot aliens and kill them to win the game. much like any other game, the objectives, goals, mechanics and gameplay is repetitive. that doesn't mean that it is boring. people obviously enjoy doing the same things for hundreds or thousands of hours. we are creatures of habit.

nothing i say is going to change his mind about the game and i honestly don't care whether or not he enjoyed it. some people just don't like fps games. i don't like certain genres of games either and no one's opinion of how great the classics are are going to change my mind either.

ok, i get what you're saying, though i think that generally the purpose of level design is to at least tone that down a bit. i really like fps games, but some of them just aren't up my alley and some of them are vene though they have the "same" flaws - i guess unreal tournament gets pretty damn repetitive too, including the official maps, but i'd rather play that than halo.

at least halo isn't cover-based, headshot-oriented bullshit.

there's a lot of elements to the "fun factor" of any game. and of course, not everyone finds the same things fun.

and games are more fun with friends.. even if they suck. like watching a bad movie together or something.

wait what

on the last page, you basically said my taste in video games is bad because, well, I guess because I don't enjoy the same games that you enjoy playing (for the most part).

unless you were joking, but that seriously didn't come across at all, which is why I explained why I disliked the game from a completely personal point of view.

rtil

nah not really what i meant

halo is a critically acclaimed fps, it's just a good game there's really no getting around that fact

maybe it doesn't hold up anymore, i don't know i haven't played it in years

but back when it came out it was THE best multiplayer fps experience you could ask for hands down, especially on a console
