Okay, so, since the help forum got taken down a while ago, I'm hoping this is the right place to post this. Anyway, I've been wanting to design an RPG-type system, where you move a placeholder graphic with the arrow keys around the screen, for a game idea I've had for a while, but I can't even get past the basic step of getting a character to appear on screen using Actionscript. I'm using two seperate .as files, one for the player character and one for the game start-up itself. The problem is that the movieclip I intended to use doesn't appear on screen, even though it's linked to the PC.as file and ought to work based on my (admittedly basic) experience with inserting movieclips in with AS3. I've considered what could be the root of the problem and I'm just not getting anywhere. For anyone who's interested, the files for this failed system are here: http://www.thebackalleys.com/dump/folder.php?f=189

Honestly, I'd just like to figure out how I'm messing up so badly just doing something simple like this.
this all reminds me of that dream, where you tried to run and you tried to scream, but your heavy feet, just dragged to the beat, of the world's slowest blues
