Here's an entire topic devoted to the flash crap that I do! I'm hoping to do a lot more flash when I graduate BTW.

Here's my latest work: Pube Muppet Dies Pube Muppet:Remasturbated I did "His Lament"

I was approached by my friend Cyberen who asked me to do a Pube Muppet movie for his 10th year anniversary. I thought about it for a little bit and decided I would do it. I thought it would be interesting for me to go back to a "series" I haven't touched in about eight years. Sadly I was the only classic PM author he was able to contact.

pube muppet's been around for 10 years? holy shit. also the name cyberen reminds me of that weirdo who made hundreds of 'cyberen sillies'. i could never figure out if he was doing it to mock him or what

I do know that Cyberen was part of the barney bunch and he had a falling out with mr blue and one of the other admins who kept making those flashes. Despite being named "Cyberen Sillies", the flashes rarely had anything to do with Cyberen.

Other than that, Cyberen's a lot of fun to work with. He's my #1 go to guy when I want to express my opinion on modern animation. He's working on a new original series right now as well.

Commentary on request:

So over the past few months I worked on it every once in a while. I decided to actually build a story around the spam character and treat him and the other Pube characters as actual... characters. I originally wanted FBF animation in it (I did a couple unused storyboards) and... voice actors, which was a horrible idea. Eventually I just decided to use this opportunity to try new things in flash that I never have done before. Camera panning, textures for backgrounds, an actual fucking script (which a lot got cut), some instances of frame by frame animation that actually made it into the final product if you look close enough, and more. Some instances of the art I actually find pretty decent, like the cliff scene and how the sun sinks into the sea. Sure I have a HELL of a lot more to explore as far as animation goes, but this is a good start since I took a 7-8 year break.

Even though I wanted to try a lot of different things with this flash, I still wanted to be respectful to the spam legacy that is the Pube Muppet. I watched every Pube Muppet movie on Newgrounds and took notes of certain things (Did you know that PM has FIVE dads?). Since my movie had an actual story I decided to throw some nods to continuity to various old PM videos, treating the movies as if they were all in continuity with each other.

One part that was difficult for me that you couldn't see yourself was the flashback scene where it takes place in one of my old PM movies. Sure I had to imitate my old shitty spam art style, but there are so many shitty spam art styles out there and I was bent on making it look as if I made these flashback scenes IN 2004 rather than 2012, especially since I would not only be using the old background I did in 2004, but I had to draw new backgrounds in the same style as well. I took the initiative to re-record the lines (because the quality was dropped when importing it into flash) attempting to use the same pitch and speed for the Speakonia voices I used in that video, use animation -coughs- "techniques" that were common among shitty flash artists (Like opening a door using a tween), and attempting to emulate a 12 FPS flash movie when the movie was actually 30FPS. It wasn't absolutely perfect (Since you can only emulate 10 or 15 FPS in a 30 FPS movie), but I doubt anyone else on the planet earth noticed all that shit except me and now you since I pointed it out to you.

I have a habit of doing extremely subtle things in my flash movies that only I will notice.

So I finished the movie and sent it off to Cyberen for him to include in his collection. Submission night was a nightmare. Flash was creating audio glitches (I should be used to this by now) and was playing streamed audio out of place with the "replay" buttons and sometimes the audio didn't play at all when the flash switched to a separate scene. So I spent several hours going through the movie fixing all the audio. I told him about the silence channel, which was used throughout the entire flash. The audio for my movie ended up being one big MP3 because it kept desyncing all the time even with the silence channel (making sure that every single audio channel had something "playing" at all times).

So that's my tl;dr story with this thing. I spent way more time thinking about it than I really needed to, because it's the fucking Pube Muppet, but still it helped me learn quite a few things. Hope you enjoy it. If not, I understand... there's quite a few dicks in this flash. Even though it has an actual fucking story for once, it still has its trademark immature as hell potty humor. Also you read all of that to the end, yay!
