im making a short cartoon in flash and i want to use one single background music track that just keeps playing troughout the cartoon. only problem is ive got more than one scene and streamed sounds die as soon as the scene is over, How do i stream sounds in flash between scenes WITHOUT any sound "bumps"/ noticeable cuts?

rtil

don't use scenes.

seriously, they suck

emanhattan

thats latin for "theres no solution" then

i dont actually use scenes a lot, my longest cartoon was 2 minutes long and i created the whole thing in a single scene but that approach always felt impractical to me. i only use scenes for like the "main menu" and credits of my cartoons but this is the first time ever that i transition from scenes while the movie plays

rtil

no there is a solution you just have to get a little creative.

instead of using scenes use movie clips on the main timeline containing each scene with the length respective of the frames inside the clip.

put the streaming music in your movie clip. when it hits the end of that "scene", mark the frame #.

in your next movie clip, put the streaming sound in and edit the clip in flash to start at that # (you'll have to extend the timeline to do this). you can even do this beforehand in the previous clip and cut/paste the frame into the new one.

when your cartoon is completed, mute or remove the streaming sounds from the movie clips, and put the entire clip to play on the main timeline. bam, you're done. no clipping sounds, one track, all synced.

yeah i bet you do you sick motherfucker

Yeah the MC way is pretty much failsafe, since flash generally sucks with audio sync otherwise
