if you post some (new) complete pieces, not doodles, it will be easier to give you advice re: composition, color etc. and go beyond the trademark "reconcile your style and intent, more anatomy studies and drawing from life" response

as far as things that are finished i don't really have much to offer hahah
the last thing i "finished" was this piece i did in january



here are some drawings i did of people at school except for that horny body that had a horrifying face so i tried to block it out with a waffle




i haven't been drawing things from my imagination recently and i've just been drawing things i see. i'm doing this to try and subconsciously get rid of bad habits i have and i want to know if this is a good idea

i liked eman's point about the mental differences between life drawing and drawing from imagination, because that's really good advice and something to consider. a lot of what i've had to learn the hard way came from fucking up the way i was thinking about my drawings and eman put that into better wording than i ever could have. i forgot i already ^'d at tmk's life drawing advice, sue me

the first two posts i was just poking fun at fawx because all of our interactions have literally been "anigen gay", "draw more paste on noses", i don't think anything i said after that was really dickish or unhelpful. i even pmed him and gave him a link to a bunch of artbooks and my skype if he ever needed book recommendations or whatever, so you guys can stop whiteknighting now

first of all, id like to say that in your latest drawing the shadings of the faces you drew are really well done and that face you crossed off from that "horny body" drawing wasnt that bad either, i could see a little bit of her head and face while it was covered up.

oh lol i think i've drawn that model before.

i don't know how serious you are about art or anything (pretty serious i imagine because: college) but i would maybe look up if there are any life drawing classes around where you live.  i'm lucky, so there's on every tuesday down the street from where i live and i've found that it's really different than drawing from photos (different in a good way).  the atmosphere, the actual 3d model, i dunno
