yogpod fanart

hey hey, i recently became a relatively big fan of the yogscast on youtube and also their yogpod on itunes, so i decided to make some fan art.

Their podcast is somewhat similar to the ricky gervais show, so i tried to emulate that style a little while still having my own style in there somewhat. This is the result:



They're completely rigged for animation, which is also partly why as a drawing it doesn't look too great. I am currently thinking about maybe animating a few minutes of my favorite parts of their podcast for youtube/newgrounds/whatever, so yeah. That'll be cool!

I'll post progress here as well, if i get around to it!

also as far as the drawing goes, well, they seem a little too formless. their heads have some interesting shapes but for the most part are just blobs with facial features haphazardly drawn in. then their arms are so stiff. there's also a lot of empty space around them. i think you can do way better than this. try going for a more cartoony look.

I actually totally agree with the stiffness. I will try a totally different approach, probably. This one is easy to animate but i myself don't like the way it looks too much, and I pretty much lost interest in making it look like the ricky gervais show, because i don't want to make the animation like a rip-off.

also minecraft is barely ever mentioned in the podcasts, cause they've been going on for about a year or two before they started playing minecraft buuuuut yeah whatever. (also, it's one fat and one thin guy, so all they're missing is a round-headed buffoon)

Not too shabby. My gf is a fan of their shows. I remember seeing them as characters that were featured in a game in Sanctum. I'm surprised by their popularity across the net.
