woah calm down there fella. I am not against having any sort of sexualized material in media believe me. I am against it when it serves no purpose. When the focus of something becomes something as simple as "look at this girls boobs, butt, or vag" it doesn't strike me as something worth support. It exists for solely one reason. However if it works in context with the character, then I'm fine with it. Let's take your virus characters for example. I really liked the design of them even though they're pretty much nude or something. But a virus wouldn't need clothing so it works. And you're not beating anyone over the head by making the "goods" the focal point. They're there but the characters being viruses probably don't know about sexuality in the first place. And if they do, it's probably not the same way humans view sexuality. Also there are other visual elements that make it more interesting than "here is a upskirt shot" (specifically the color scheme and the fingers into the ground).

So we'll take filia for example since Sev says she has a defeated pose where there's an upskirt shot. I get it she's in a skirt so that might happen but how does the pantyshot add to her character? Does it add anything at all? There's plenty of ways to show a character is defeated so why have some upskirt shit? Or is it just there for the audience to look up her skirt while shes just lying on the ground. Now if her character were some kind of embodiment of sexual energy or some shit than sure it would make sense. But if it's just there to be there then...why bother?

To answer your latest question, there's only one answer for that. The people in charge are the ones to claim what's necessary to go in their, game/movie/whatever. It's their right. But it's my right to express how I feel. And I feel that if something is in a game or anything that doesn't seem to serve any purpose to the experience or that purpose is there just to pander, then I don't feel the element is necessary.

To answer your other question: If that's all there was to the game then yes you're damn right I'd have the same problem if it didn't add anything in context to the game. So lets say a sack shot of some dude was added when he was beaten. I would have the same problem with it unless it was part of his character.

Now if both games were entirely over the top about it and had like the girls boobs slap around people and guys chest hairs strangle their opponents I would probably think it was pretty damn funny and be fine with both. But then there's a theme behind it at least and as long as they stuck with it, it could work. There's a reason for it to exist, it's justified. However, I don't look at cheap, panty shots as something that I'll cherish in my gaming experience.
