pls gibe da mango b0ss

Still looking for the books, ill post em when I find em.

Anyway, hes this weeks dump of shit.

A little thing I did for the cover of last weeks Dreaming Of Podcast. Ill be doing one of these a week from now on if things go to plan.

Some Wonder Boy 3 sprite redraws because I love the designs in that game and why not.

And last Kane and Lynch. I spent the last 2 days playing through Kane and Lynch: Dead Men. I tend to gravitate towards games that get mixed receptions for some reasons, and I figured since Nier was a polarizing game and I really enjoyed it that I might enjoy this game as well, I do love me some crime thrillers after all. Long story short, I didn't, but I thought it would be fun to draw Kane and Lynch themselves, see what i could do with them in my style. Turns out they look a little like this.

michaell

cool characters!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gerkinman

More gay on the way.

And now for something different hyuck hyuck.

HE has. no. style: He has no grace
All this Kong has is a funny face

Gerkinman

I really should do the whole DK Crew. Lanky makes my wiener hard.

Gerkinman

Weekly Dump.

Some character design tests for my next short.

And a background for it.

And lastly the art for the podcast I did last week which was an interview with Blordow.

rtil

i think the characters work better with a darker outline because they are flat and the colors are close to eachother in temperature

Something a little more like this? I do feel like just having black lines makes it a little easier to read.

CoolDrMoney

I like the 2nd version of the characters better and it might just because I find the shapes more pleasing. The black outlines might be too harsh though. This might just be me but I think a dark (but not black) and bolder outline would look good. Maybe do a really dark outline of the dominant color of the characters? Your style is really shape oriented, just turn the outline into sort of a shadow contorting to the shape of the character? Just mess around with it. I like it when the shapes of the characters are simple. I dont like the black lines and I'm thinking bolder, more-shape-than-line lines might look nice.

Wade is not gay, read his profile! It's sad that you would use sexual orientation as a joke, shows that you have no real sense of humor.

rtil

not necessarily black but something dark enough that it helps it pop

Gerkinman

More shitty mc shit shit.

And in my spare time I am working on a game in RPG Maker, its based on the story of the Flatwoods Monster. That story taking place in the 1950s I designed the two main characters of the game as a homage to Lucas and Ness from the Earthbound series. Stylistically its a little different to what I have been doing lately but people seem to like this style of character design much more than my potato people.

The game itself is using the Game Boy Colour's limited palette. Everyone seems to be making their retro games based on the NES, but I guess since i didn't grow up with the system I am a little more nostalgic for the GBC. (I know the system only allowed for 2 colours per sprite but i'm cheating with 3 shhh dont tell anyone kthnxbai).

i like them better as sprites i think.. mostly because i really don't like those paste-on geometric shape noses. i find them extremely distracting

the stuff above it is cute, too

Im not sure why I went with those triangle noses, I guess a lot of people didn't like the sausage noses I was putting on people (I have been trying to emulate the look a lot of muppets have for years and I always loved the fact the noses on the monsters often was different to the rest of their boy) but its not something a lot of other people liked the look of. In illustrated form anyway. The triangles are a bit erky, ill probably end up doing something else for the up close character portraits. I just need to find something that works so I will keep tinkering.

You and my mum are the only people who think that. :P
I actually had a few people tell me to stop drawing like that because its too weird and they don't find it appealing.

Anyways, sausage nose confirmed for old farmer man.

rtil

i think that nose looks better cuz it feels more like part of the face

Been messing around, trying some new things.

And heres some shit for an LP im doing because im a faggot. I promise I wont do any screaming tho.

My gf needed a pic for her twitch as well so I reluctantly drew a girl for the first time in years. I don't entirely hate it which is why I stopped drawing women in the first place.

And lastly I animated this for the Sever Star Re-Animate project (same deal as the Sailor Moon Re-Animate) and it took about 17 hours of my life that I am never getting back.

Drawing like this is as fun as it is fullfilling. I feel like my drawings are improving faster than they have in years, and its only been a few days!
