watch him not veto the keystone XL measure either

W.A.C.

If that anti-piracy bill passes AND he signs it, holy shit I will be furious. Obama is a shitty ass president and I'm proud of the fact I did not vote for him in 2008. This is bad but goddamn, the future of the internet will go to hell if that one bill becomes law.

rtil

it's almost as if he doesn't want to get re-elected, he proves himself more a coward every time he threatens a veto and then backs down. how can he possibly be scared of that scumbag boehner? congress approval rating is its lowest of all time under that idiot

The deception with tact, just what are you trying to say?
You've got a blank face, which irritates
Communicate, pull out your party piece
You see dimensions in two
State your case with black or white
But when one little cross leads to shots, grit your teeth
You run for cover so discreet, why don't they:

Do what they say, say what you mean
One thing leads to another
You told me something wrong, I know I listen too long
But then one thing leads to another.

The impression that you sell
Passes in and out like a scent
But the long face that you see comes from living close to your fears
If this is up then I'm up but you're running out of sight
You've seen your name on the walls
And when one little bump leads to shock miss a beat
You run for cover and there's heat, why don't they:

Do what they say, say what they mean
One thing leads to another
You told me something wrong, I know I listen too long
But then one thing leads to another
One thing leads to another

Then it's easy to believe
Somebody's been lying to me
But when the wrong word goes in the right ear
I know you've been lying to me
It's getting rough, off the cuff I've got to say enough's enough

Bigger the harder he falls
But when the wrong antidote is like a bulge on the throat
You run for cover in the heat why don't they

Do what they say, say what they mean
One thing leads to another
You tell me something wrong, I know I listen too long
But then one thing leads to another
One thing leads to another

FUkc what???? i dont even???! WHAT FUCK i mean FUCK

this is so incredibly fucked up

i would fear ANY goverment with this kind of power a lot more than i could ever fear a terrorist group.

the military and the police are too powerful and its becoming more difficult to fight them because these congress assholes have transformed freedom of speech and free use of the internet into a "privilege". whos gonna defend us from them?

I went to great lengths to get out of my country thinking politics in the US would be at least less fucked but god damn these people are mentally ill, powerhungry cowards

Im not tremendously afraid of this YET only because obama is in charge, and even though i disagree with him very strongly i would like to believe people will not become victims of the justice system.... but the POWER must be feared, because we will not always have someone (arguably good)  who, like obama, controls this power. this power can very easilly fall in the wrong hands, and it will.
if these bills still stand until the next elections you better pick very carefully

goddamnit save us ron paul youre the only person in american politics who doesnt seem insane as shit

rtil

the problem is that obama is signing the first indefinite detention bill into law since mccarthyism. this is the government trying to control its people instead of being by and for the people. if he was a true democrat he would veto it without a second thought. so not only is he a coward, but he's also a liar. he's been a huge disappointment and i wouldn't be surprised now if he loses his re-election bid.

I honestly can't believe he turned out to be this horrible of a president. I could never understand why so many people had such high hope in him, but holy fucking shit is he an awful president. Like honestly, with the exception of gay rights, is he any better on civil liberties than Bush?

at least we're not learning about this shit second hand from a michael moore movie

dude i think that the internet bill is a huge breach of privacy, but i do think that maybe if it passes people will stop using the internet for social reasons and for entertainment. i would like that a lot

TV sucks ass, I rarely ever feel like watching movies, and music is way over priced plus I probably discovered most of the artists I listen to through the internet. Not to mention I used my computer as my main source of entertainment and talk to people online all the time. The internet has evolved in great way and I'd hate for that to go to hell.

trent bortknob

nah cuz then you'd actually have to use your brain and hands to achieve those things instead of having them fed to you. plus, you wouldn't have a constant stream of information.

rtil

there is nothing good about the bill, period

it's stifling progress and an open, free internet. you can't force people to practice your warped ideals. trying to make anything positive out of this is stupid. the social aspect of the internet has helped the world rise up against corrupt government in ways unimaginable a decade ago.. taking that away from people is exactly what big government/corporations want.

naturally

my teacher's making us watch bowling for columbine in class so i find this funny

i really don't know anything about the states' problems so forgive me if i come off as being massively ignorant, but i do know the whole idea of the internet bill scares me. i really don't want to see other countries follow suit and create similar laws just because the us passed a bill. the internet is so huge in everything i've seen happen on it that the concept of censoring something as big as that is terrifying to me. i just feel like if the internet isn't off limits for censorship, nothing really is.
