i hear a lot about persona but i'm not really familiar with it. what kind of game is it

[BluPhoenix]

The persona games are usually a mixture of a social sim and a dungeon crawler, you play through the game on a day system, you choose what you want to do on those days, while scripted story events intertwine with your choices. there's typically some kind of dark plot twist in the beginning that sparks the dungeon-crawling section of the game (persona 3's 'tartarus', persona 4's 'tv world') where you get to kill a bunch of baddies as you and your buddies level up together, and based on your relationships with them, (social links) they are granted more abilities in combat/engross in selflessness, etc.

oh and you can have a romantic relationship with almost every female character in the game

How about keeping the music in here instead of the soundtracks thread while you guys are at it

I'd probably never play the Persona games simply because they require a lot of time, but the music is well worth the listen.
