Just wanted to let you guys know that with your help, I was able to purchase all the diapers I will need until ~6mos. I am cloth diapering as it is much better economically as well as for the environment (disposables are expensive and such a waste!!), aaannnddd I was able to get everything i needed for about hundreds less than it would normally cost with my savvy shopping skills. Ive still got $$ leftover from what tba has helped me with for later necessities.

if anyone wants to know more about cloth diapering free feel to ask

pps. what happened to dad? are you going at this alone? is your financial situation stable enough for you to stay home and support this kid? im actually really pretty concerned about you, dude. going at this kind of thing alone is incredibly difficult and if thats seriously the situation that youve found yourself in then i am deeply concerned for you, but also have incredible respect for you. raising a kid alone is a seriously brave and difficult thing to do, and even though it doesnt mean much coming from some little nerd stranger on the internet, i really do wish you the best

disposables are terrible for a baby. the chemicals they use to absorb more liquid means that parents think its ok to let their kids sit in their own urine for longer an in more amounts because the diaper is bloated with urine and excrement.

cloth diapered babies rarely get diaper rash. my family uses cloth diapers and ive never witnessed a blowout (where shit sneaks up the back of the diaper and leaks onto the clothes like in disposables). not to mention disposables cost 10x as much in the long run and dont break down in landfills meaning they will be there long after even your great great grandchildren have died. i dont know why anyone would use disposables with exception of added convenience

my son doesnt have a father unfortunately but he does have a family (and extended with family friends) who already adore and love him. i will be raising him alone but it is not so bad. it is better to have no father than to have a bad one.

yeah if you have the economy to support it, but unless she wins the lottery, gets hooked up with a rich prick or her parents shit stacks of money this would probably be too luxurious and probably unnecessary

I didn't realize these were options. I guess ill go ahead and forget about a forensic engineering degree and just sit around on my ass until prince charming comes to scoop me up.

As far as the diapering service goes, they are good but better for those who live in cities and such/have a bit more income. I've got a perfectly fine washer and dryer here so I'm not fussed. But it is definitely a plus for those who can afford it or don't have the amenities
