I'm starting to think that shitty half-anime is going to be the next major art movement.
How many running kids shows aren't a sloppy Japanese influenced pile of disgust?
Children of today will grow up NOT vomiting at the sight of this.

how many are? i can't even think of one.

the most successful cartoons on tv right now are nothing like this.. adventure time, regular show, gumball, spongebob (hit and miss), thundercats (animated by Studio 4C). yes there's a lot of crap shows that come and go, but they're always forgettable and they always die early.

i'd argue the worst cartoon on tv right now is very american looking and also american(slash canadian)-made , and that cartoon is johnny test. but ten years from now no one will remember johnny test. they'll remember the good cartoons, just like we only remember the good cartoons that were on in 2001.

a lot of attention is being drawn to my life me because of how awful it looks. but it will ultimately premiere on some network and everyone will forget about it, and chances are it will die off after a season or two, never to be heard from again.

yes, there's a lot of garbage that teenagers like. but i also think that most kids and teens have a subconscious understanding of what good and bad cartoons are without yet understanding why they feel that way. it only makes sense when you look at the cartoons that dominated ratings back then and also now. their main demographic is the kid to teen ages, and they are the classics of that time and there are classics being made now.

there was a time when i think it was appropriate to bitch about a modern dark age of cartoons, but i think that time has come and gone. animation has historically gone through cycles of ups and downs. we had a good 5-6 years of downtime, and now i feel like things are heading back up.

it doesn't mean that all cartoons being made right now are going to be good. there will always be shit on tv - just more or less of it.

Crappy western anime is being marketed to the average weaboo child like it's nobody's business.
This show has supposedly already won awards, and if it gains a following, it'll only propagate the awfulness.

-JoHnNy TeSt... which is apparently the only show thats ever fucking on

well, no offense, but canada is notorious for creating shit cartoons. i was talking more specifically about american television, cartoon network. CN doesn't show totally spies or total drama island anymore. and bakugan is like any other japanese kid show, it is a catalyst for a toy product. pokemon, digimon, monster rancher and beyblade were all made for the same reasons.

and i don't see what an award has to do with a show's popularity. kids don't give a shit about awards. they watch what they like. the ratings will tell the story, not the trophies on its shelf.

Well at any rate, I'm more or less with Billy. The art is tolerable but why does the animation suck so bad. And you know what, only people like us are going to notice that and the rest of the sheeple will watch it anyways.
