I don't know, I watched through a few episodes of this, and Charlie took a lot of material directly from one of his older series.
He's good, but he just doesn't have a lot of material to work with.

I've never seen any of his series only a few sketches here and there, maybe thats why it felt so fresh

I don't really have just one favorite, and since I don't want to list what a few people have already done before me, I'll just go with the rest that wasn't mentioned (probably because they are older):

Twin Peaks: David Lynch at his finest, really weird show, but you just have to keep watching it
X- files: Who doesn't know this? Two agents investigating creepy stuff, related to aliens
ER: Give me a dose of epinephrine! it's about doctors, duh
Third Watch: Basically the same as ER, just with cops and firefighters added
Jackass: admit it, it's fun to see people do stupid shit and suffer
Beyond Belief: Fact Or Fiction?: This was a show about myths and such, they've reshot several stories as short movies and you had to guess if it's real or not
Pete and Pete: Show about two brothers, and a lot of weird stuff
Legends of the Hidden Temple: Old game show on nickelodeon, kids competing against each other in teams.
Guts:Again, an old game show on nickelodeon. At the end, they had to climb a fake mountain to win a trophy. Every kid I knew wanted to be on this one
Sliders: Guy opens a portal to another dimension, goes trough, tries to get back
Hercules: legendary journeys: Hercules goes and kicks some ass
Knight Rider: A cop(?) and a talking car, fighting crime.

Yeah, none of it is on tv anymore, but they're good.

psi, newer seasons of scrubs suck pretty hard, season 8 was ok, but ignore everything around it. And for god sake never watch season 9 it was catastrophic
