yeah, uh, newsflash, it's the same people who play every other generic military-themed shooter, except they have to tend to more complex tasks and as such their bullshit becomes even more apparent

switching squads, teams and servers all the time isn't worth the effort, i rarely saw any attempts at co-operation or anything that resembled skillful or tactical play

i don't even dislike the BF series as a whole but BF3 will probably blow  BC2 out of the water and still be marred by morons and faggots

i mean the hardcore BF faggots all stick to BF2 or are waiting for BF3, it's literally only the CoD-generation that's playing BC2

put in perspective, it's a bit like hardcore koreans refusing to switch to starcraft 2 because the balance is largely inferior to that of brood war (plus all the pros are huge crybabies)

played the multiplayer beta today. origin is awful, impossisble to find your friends on unless you sync it up with facebook/etc, which i refuse to do. also no custom avatars, lol.

but as far as the game goes, it's looking and playing great so far. my only quips are the animation on jumping over obstacles and this bug where this blue fade/slight blur doesn't go away once you spawn. you can get rid of it by going in and out of a menu sometimes. but often it will just hang with you for that duration of your spawn.

the subway level is really good, if you're on the defending team. i don't see how the attacking team could ever win on this map on the 2nd part, but i'm sure strategies will be developed on how to get to the charges.

I'd be shocked if the final game was like that, so thus they require you to sign up for origin just because they can. They want more members and they know that without this game it will fail horribly

Even if Origin does bomb, I think it's pretty much been confirmed that it will not come to steam. Which sucks. I'm guessing this may also be for any future battlefield games as well(?).

yep. with EA in the picture, you can count on it never coming to steam. so if you want to hold yourself to that, you'll either have to play it on a console or not play it at all.

i don't really see the point in the boycott. yeah, origin is stupid. but it's a small piece of DRM that doesn't do much of anything except serve as a launcher for the game. steam does the same thing - only (big) difference is that steam is actually useful, for more reasons than can be listed. origin is obviously just for EA shit.

just a warning to anyone who wants to play the beta  - there is a pretty good chance that at the end of a round the game will just time out and it won't save any of your progress. it's happened to me in my last 4 games. i'm just gonna stop playing until they fix it.

So I tried it out on my laptop. As beast as my laptop is, the frames per second was a little low for my taste, although I made no attempt to change the settings from default, so I'll get back to that. It looks good on xbox, but I was hoping for a little better. Although generally speaking, animations and one of the most impressive things I've seen so far, that and just the general attention to detail.

The game handles a bit more like cod (as opposed to bad company 2), which was sort of a downer. Still seems fun though, but it's glitchy as fuck, you can tell EA wasn't really ready for this


Also that weird blue screen thing rtil mentioned happens on consoles too
