the frontpage doesnt flow too well with the other stuff thats on it in my opinion. and maybe instead of having 5 or 6 different pages you could set up a tab that has the months with the year next to it (Sept 2007, Oct 2007, etc.). kind of like an archive. it would make everything seem a little more organized. its a tedious process though find all the right months and put them in the right category so its up to you.

archives are for the news posts only really. i want people to be able to access content based on its category, so i'm sticking with links for different pages. but i'll definitely be doing an overhaul on design, as well as changing this forum's color scheme. it it will fight the stoplights but not the banner at the top which will have to change.

i really like the background, and a transparent content box is cool. also i was thinking that having all the opions on the side like that would be interesting, but how about having them look more like part of the background.
And i'm assuming that your going to put a little more work into "the backalleys" sign on the right, it's cool they way it is, just looks a little unfinished.

it is way unfinished, this is all just sketches. i'll try to have the links look like they are lights on the buildings. for now they arej ust simple gradients, not embedded into the background at all. i'll do it by adding colors to make it look like it's shining on the building

the back gradient will be a tad lighter
it will be fall colors
i'm making this template so that it's seasonal. in the winter the back gradient will be light blue/gray and i'll put snowflakes on it, in spring i'll make it kinda pink/violet, etc. should be either really cool or really gay either way i'm doin it!!!!!!!

The layout's concept is cool but yeah, I'm glad to hear the final version will look a lot better since the buttons look horrible. Having the links look like lights will probably look good though. The orange-redish color in the backgrounds doesn't look very good IMO.

it looks fine on my old crt but most flatscreens make it look like barf
