So it made almost half as much on its opening weekend as what Pitch Perfect made, in the states anyway.

I saw it by the way, I can't remember the last time I came out of the Cinema smiling, but I know for a fact its been at least 5 or 6 years and this is the movie that brought that old smile back. What a thrill. I forgot what it was like to actually be excited while watching a film.

Everyone knows that any movie that isn't directed by a Hollywood director is a B movie! Us dirty Australians could never accomplish anything more than that. </3

I am looking forward to seeing it on Tuesday and I really hope it does well, not just because nothing successful comes out of Australia anymore, but because I want to see more practical effects in movies. I haven't seen anything since Godzilla last year because everything looks so fucking fake now that I struggle to get invested in anything I watch. I know that Mad Max made more money in Australia than Star Wars did the year it came out, I hope it happens again.

I work with quite a few people who worked on Johnny Test. The horror stories. 2 - 3 day turn arounds for every episode.

Actually, I just haven't seen anything Cartoon Network has made outside of Adventure Time, something I enjoyed at first but got burnt out on over time. I like the backgrounds in Steven Universe a lot, but not enough to actually watch it.

This show belongs to kids, adults need to stop watching these kids show shit and complaining about them when they don't meet their "needs".

I love Steven Universe. It's silly, it's cool, it's mysterious and it's diverse and different but it's not preachy or in your face about it at all. I really like that.

I thought it was super preachy and in your face. I have only seen a few episodes but its about as subtle with its messages as a train to the face. I do love the backgrounds in it tho, they is beautiful.

Please explain why you think so... I haven't seen the more recent episodes, so you could be right.

The most recent thing to happen, and something that sent Tumblr into a tizzy was that Garnet turned out to actual be a fusion of two lover gems, hell, she even sang a song about how it made her stronger after it was revealed. Of course this means that Garnett exists thanks to a lesbian relationship according to Tumblr, but these same people are also defending it from angry parents by insisting the gems are genderless (which according to the creator they are) which kind of makes the whole thing pointless.

Having two girls kiss ain't subtle at all, especially when its followed up with a jam about how it makes you kick ass. Don't get me wrong, I love watching girls make out as much as the next dude does. It was just really in your face about it despite the fact the lore behind it makes it rather pointless. Thats how they got it around the censors I guess.
