the candle i put in the pumpkin was too tall so it ended up warming, drying and then subsequently setting the top of my pumpkin on fire.
Missed this. How did that go? My first pumpkin was put beside a plant that somebody overwatered and my pumpkin met with the water and ended up slowly melting like a wicked witch.

Xenoblade and DQ are standalone mostly.
Xenoblade isn't related to the Wii & N3DS version at all? I've intentionally not looked into it yet because I haven't finished the previous one and didn't want spoilers.

I haven't looked into the Switch a whole lot and I'm sure its gimmick (at the risk of sounding like a bitch) is pretty cool. I'm not really in the position to buy a new console any time soon but for sure if you were gonna pick up Pokken at some point then the DX edition for Switch would be the way to do it, considering they deliberately decided to leave content out of the Wii U edition for no reason other than to make it Switch-exclusive so people would buy the Switch. So my only exposure to the Switch so far has been that bullshit that all major companies seem to pull when they're trying to push a new product but that considered I'm sure it's pretty good despite this.

How are you finding Mario Odyssey? It's apparently the next best thing since canned bread.

I'll also forgive you, since my forgiveness counts for nothing.

My brother was asking the same question for his own band recently, he didn't like Power Creep or 403 - Forbidden.

I don't know what more I can do for him.

This is a very large number of games for me. I'll only list some that I actually intend to get around to at some point.

  • Dishonored
  • Dragon Age
  • Shadowrun: Dragonfall
  • Final Fnatasy VII
  • Darksiders
  • Metro
  • Pokémon Black 2/White 2
  • FTL (+ a number of other rogue-likes)

you can apparently marry npcs. im assuming thats where the game ends since thats what everyone plays this game for.
I'll have you know I've spoken to people about this game for an estimated 45 minutes in total and I've never heard of this. Certainly it wasn't what I played it for. I played it because a friend got it for me as a present for some reason and I felt obliged to give it a go even though it's not generally my sort of game at all.

Huh, I planned on checking back in a little more quickly than I did. My Halloween was equally boring after the group I'd been planning to go to cancelled on me and my friend so we ended up going to out fourth or fifth choice of place and spent the night sleeping in a car because we were only told we had a place to sleep because the culprit was super drunk.

Also nobody came to my place for trick-or-treating this year, presumably giving us some space after things occurred, and we've only just recently finished all of the junk food that we bought in order to hand out.

Did Unless watch Luluco.
Not in memory. Just saw the picture and really related, y'know?

I had the same thing with Stacked Actors by Foo Fighters for an estimated literally literally 8 years.

I don't know, sorry dude. Tried a few crappy song recognition apps and everything. Sounds like something out of one of the later levels in a Doom game. Best of luck.

General / Halloween plans.
October 20, 2017 02:31 AM
Everybody here aside from myself will be staying home and doing nothing, which sounds particularly unpleasant. {S} wanted to dress up but is at that age where doing so is uncool, so probably wouldn't do so if going to a party or something. Nonetheless I've been promised an opportunity to try out some Steam Powered Giraffe-esque facepainting.

Then I'll be doing something similar to myself before going to a house party with a bunch of people who play MtG but probably won't even want to because they'll be too busy getting drunk and/or high. I argue that that's the best time to play Magic, and hopefully {B} and I will continue to think so as the night goes on because we've been talking about having a stupidly high game for a while now.

Is anybody else doing anything interesting for Halloween, or are you just going to stay in and play video games and ignore the doorbell like the boring hermit you know you are?

I had been looking for this song for literally eight years, remembering nothing about it except the main chorus riff, before I walked in on my brother playing it in Guitar Hero today.

I thought FEAR 1, FEAR 1.5, FEAR 1.5 2 and FEAR 2 were okay.

I've typically resented my fears and definitely have fewer now that I done got oldered. Conquering them only feels good when they're legitimate and rational fears such as travelling at too high speeds or being at very high heights, but I think that's more that they're exhilarating as activities.

Though the beginning makes it sound like it's going to be badly mixed and awful, it's actually k. I'd still like a real cover.

Huh. Neat. I bought Vanquish for Xbox my brother for a while ago on a whim and watched the intro levels but didn't think much of it at a glance. I don't think he ever completed it. Maybe I'll give that a shot now that I'm back home again for a while.

Bayonetta has been one that's been on the list for a while, even surviving how much I turned out to hate her guts in Smash Bros.. Thanks for letting me know.

Entertainment / Re: Samurai Jack
May 17, 2017 11:42 PM
I'd watch Samurai Jack when I happened to be watching the television and it was on, mainly just because I was a Cartoon Network junkie. Its pacing was something I never appreciated when it first came out, probably because I was too young and preferred things like Powerpuff Girls. And Dragon Ball Z for some reason, though the pacing in that was just awful. Possibly because, while Dragon Ball Z had a lot of "I'm totally about to fight you, and I will punch you hard, and it will be very hard, and then after 10 episodes I'll claim to stop holding back," it did feel like it was going somewhere eventually. Samurai Jack seemed like self-contained episodes in a long journey but with no clear indication that Jack was ever getting remotely near his ultimate goal. But then maybe I'm just remembering it wrong.

In any case I'm enjoying the latest season now, and watched enough of the previous seasons to illicit an "oh, yay" from me when the Scotsman appeared again. The pacing and visuals and audio are nice, even if parts of the plot of predictable and dumb at some points. There isn't a lot of thinking involved in enjoying it, which suits me at the moment.

That sounds like a really enticing offer, let me go dig up a 2006-2007 windows vista 32 bit machine that can actually run the damn game properly and not stutter and crash every 20 seconds whilst staying below 25 fps
Or you could just run it in a Windows 98 VM under your Linux dual boot like the rest of us.
