Animegamer: Slow information absorption?  Have you been studying too much or avoiding sleep to study or something?  Usually the brain tends to get exhausted and have trouble absorbing info if you try to study TOO hard.  It sounds to me like the issue here is time management and not so much intellect.

If that's the case, I'd advise studying whenever you feel motivated or awake enough to and take a short break whenever you're having trouble.

General / the iPhone sucks
July 15, 2007 06:36 AM
The price is a bit staggering for me, but in the technology market prices tend to drop quickly and/or devices tend to improve a lot within a short window of time.  Within a year I bet they'll have a cheaper version, maybe even a bare-essentials iPhone Nano in a matter of years.  Personally I can't even afford it, nor do I need it, so I'm more than willing to wait for a cheaper version.

I'm also a bit put off with being tied in to a 2-year iPhone-specific contract with Cingular.  I'm already on a Cingular plan but still they said I would have to buy into a new contract, one made specifically for the iPhone.  If I'm going to buy one, then I'm waiting a couple years until they get a bit more lenient with the variety of their service plans.

Wow, I haven't been active in a while, have I?  Guess it's time to post some stuff.

This is a character concept I drew pretty recently for a class, a tomboy character named Alex Andersen.  I've also submitted this to my DeviousZen Sheezy gallery...she's part of this comedy series I'm thinking about doing.  Critiques welcome, let me know what you think.

That would be any job where I can do what I like and retire at 30.  =)

Everyone here has such awesome gifts...especially that busty doll of Rainiers.  =(

My parents gave me a mind-blowing $1500...which I used to pay an equally mind-blowing school tuition.  Higher education sucks.  XD

General / Lets talk about rap music on the radio
November 28, 2006 07:02 AM
I personally think rap music has lost some of its meaning over time.  The old school guys did it very well, but most of the rap songs nowadays are pretty much tasteless rants about getting in a Maybach and banging twelve supermodels.  I don't like most of them, save for a few select songs.

So I personally dislike it, but at the same time I don't mind it either.  I just switch the station to something I actually like.  XD

Another more recent pic I did for a friend, featuring a Mega Man character as a cat.  I tried defining the edges a little more but I'm not quite sure if I did it right...

So what do you guys think?

Sweetness.  I was kind of left at a cliffhanger when they left their helicopter keys and McNuggets on the trash can.  Take your time though, real life must be laying the smackdown on ya.

I do not intend to start a cats vs. dogs type of discussion here, but I'm partial to dogs.  My cousin has a Yorkshire terrier that sticks by his side as if he were practically glued to him.  He may not be the brightest but we love the little guy anyway.

I did have a cat at one time, this little stray kitten that wandered into our garden and nibbled on our family's rose garden.    We used to get him fat by throwing him some leftover table scraps, the cute little bast got fatter every week he stopped by.  One day he wandered into the street and that was the last we saw of him.

I would have to say one!!11!1!one.

Being COMPLETELY honest, I'm more of a 3 myself.  I've been driving a little but I'm still not experienced enough in my opinion.  I still suck extravagantly at parallel parking and despise tailgaters with a passion.  In highway traffic I often get anxious if there's not a car ahead of me so I can properly gauge my speed compared to everyone else.

So yup.  If you happen to see me coming down the road, clear a path quick.

Personally I like the alien-looking guy at the top.  Very detailed and the style it was drawn in looks almost comical to great effect.

Great job on the city drawing too, great use of perspective.

General / OS-Tans

Quote from: Dagolithwhat you talk'n bout, fansub's are the best because there done by people who actualy care about what there doing, it's not just a job to them, so they'll do a good job, lots of the time commercial subs don't realy make any sense, because somethings in japanise don't mean the same thing in english (in one i saw, the main love interest was refered to as the main charicter's cousin, that HAS to be a misstake)

I know fansubs are the very model of awesome.  I was trying to make a funny.

Quote from: AnimegamerTrue, but if you read the comics ME-Tan is always portrayed as an idiot/duface not exactly great for publicity.

ME-Tan happens to be the most popular among the fan community though for that reason.  Strange enough as it is.

I don't have any experience with Vista yet, although from the sounds of it they've got a few bugs to work out on that one.  Wonder what the Vista OS-Tan will look like.

Yeah, sports-wise I think I'm better off playing sports where you compete individually and not on a team.  That way you can improve on your own standards, not having the pressure of being blamed if the team suffers a loss.  Believe me it's happened more than once.

Really?  If that's the case it's probably just a matter of time before it comes here, although I think the most we'll get here is a free fansub.  Not that there's anything wrong with those.

General / Political activisits
November 3, 2006 01:50 AM
Political activists aren't really bad in my opinion.  Although a select few are so stubborn in their own political ideals they refuse to listen to others' ideas or beliefs.  Some even threaten you if you say anything that disagrees with them, speaking from a few personal encounters myself.  But the vast majority are actually okay.

Sounds like you encountered one heck of a zealot though, tapistry.  XD

I like this comic, very funny indeed especially that little twist when the guy shows up dressed like a ninja.  Great art too, I particularly like the "Evil Mario" pose and Mr. Moose looks like a real fun character design.

The Gallery / The Men's Wearhouse Collab
November 3, 2006 01:42 AM
Hah, I loved this collab.  XD  Awesome voice acting and the animation was very nice too.  I particularly like the first volume, it had that classic Dick Tracy/film noir look to it.  Nice work
