General / Re: Commission talk
« on: March 21, 2014 08:35 PM »
i had an old friend message me the other day asking me how things were going, then immediately asked me if i could draw an album cover and some other stuff for him, telling me he couldn't pay me but that he could assure me that 'thousands of people' would see my work. i didn't even fully decline when i replied, i mostly said i was busy (complete lie) but asked what he was thinking of anyway and he never responded.

i may undersell my work a lot and other artists may as well, but even i know i'm worth more than doing something for exposure.

I've defiantly had this happen to me on multiple occasions. One of the worst that had happened to me was when I was doing custom painted sunglasses. An ex friend of mine is into rapping and wanted me to make him a pair and needed them in a rush, he said he would pay me and also promote my glasses in a show.

I agreed and I had told him that I make these glasses at $40 and will have them in time for the show and to pay me within the week. He got the glasses, did the show and gave me a shout out but I never got payed, one of the many reasons why i'm not friends with him and a harsh lesson in doing business.

Nowadays whenever I do a commission, I always request a down payment or I'm not doing shit. I recommend that to anyone selling you work.

Other than my avatar, not really. When I do though it is simple cel shading.

return of grinace

Umm, hi?

i don't think sonic adventure 2 was the best sonic game, it had some really boring shit in it. especially tails stuck in a fucking robot.

the best sonic game for me was sonic & knuckles. the best 3d sonic game is sonic generations.

sonic adventure is great, but it hasn't aged well unfortunately.

^^^  I defiantly agree here. I recently had a moment where I downloaded the DC version of SA (by no means a fan of the DX version) and played on the big screen, defiantly aged but its more nostalgia than anything. I can't help but to love the original Sonic adventure, especially in 1080p.

Sonic Boom on the other hand seems alright. Knuckles height throws me off more than anything, good thing they made him look like the strong guy in the group. I do miss the boxer gloves though. I can't wait to see how the game turns out.

Wii U: Grinace

I'm not sure if I have any games that play online, I think maybe the D&D arcade game by capcom, reminded me of streets of rage lol. That and Trine 2 I think is online.

How is it going? It has been a while since I have posted oh here, I do miss the TBA community and I know a lot of the people who were once here have left. I look forward to meeting you new guys and I promise Ill post more than once a year lol.

Some Info on myself:

I like to draw people manly in anime style.
Gonna be 22 in March and haven't decided what career I want to get myself into.
ShadowFox2 and I joined here at the same time and I am a huge fan of his music.
My goal this year is to complete my Station Zero animation, I am currently writing the story.
I am decent at drawing and  a terrible animator but want to improve as much as I can.

General / Re: Animating with Surface Pro 2/ Cintiq Companion?

I could give that a shot, I'll give best buy a visit. I'm pretty sure the Wacom tablet PC you are talking about is the Cintiq Companion, If not then I look forward to seeing it.

I was wondering if anyone on TBA has had any experience with said tablets?

I'm looking towards purchasing one but I have yet seen any videos towards animating, always Photoshop videos. They are a bit pricey but compared to the regular Cintiq it seems like a better deal, especially in portability.

As I said, never herd of anyone animating with them. I would like to, especially if there is the option of using the table as a monitor when the hardware has outdated.

Thanks for checking it out guys, means a lot to me.

For those curious enough to actually go to the facebook page, but afraid of what untold horrors might permanently emblazon themselves upon your fragile ego, here is the highlight of his designer shirts:

drink that shit in

Yeah, that was a concept shirt Zekey. The only shirts that I have printed can be found here

How is everyone doing? Long time no see TBA! it has been a good while since I've first joined this site. Just seeing what everyone over here is up too? Whats new?

I want to let you guys know what I have been up too the few years I've been inactive on TBA. I'm currently a college student majoring in Communication Design with a minor in business.  I've started my own Indie clothing company called Grinachi Customs, I create designer t-shirts, I also do custom, hand-painted jobs such as sunglasses, Xbox/Ps3 controllers, and even converse/canvas shoes! I have some examples of my custom work on my Facebook page

I also have a Big Cartel store where I have my designer t-shirts on sale at the moment, check it out and let me know what you think!? The characters on the shirts are two of the many characters in my Station Zero series that I have not released yet. I am working on a animation with my friend Rade and music provided by Shadowfox to better showcase the world of Station Zero and it's characters.

Other than that, just making doodles as usual, hope to hear from you guys soon! Peace.
