so for some reason the colours on my brush tool are coming out semi-transparent but the opacity is at 100%. I checked the opacity for the brush and the layer but I'm still getting transparent colours. Can anyone help me out?

I feel it needs some serious fine-tuning. All those videos come from very early builds of the game. The physics-driven animation isn't implemented yet, so things will look quite different as that progresses.

a level-up system with a full menu including charts for skills & abilities, and quantifiable datum which describe your characteristics and attributes

But all joking aside, I actually liked redm's first idea that spawned this discussion the best. Especially because of the VHS tapes. Since it's such an out-dated format, people would get curious and it would be taken less light-hearted. The reason for it being taken a little more serious (with more potential of news shows picking up on it) is that putting that shit on a VHS tape is more effort than what people would expect, hence the curiosity. If it was just a DVD people would be like "well that was interesting time to throw it away now".

Just saying, if we do end up making this collab, the VHS idea is the best one imho and if we are doing that, then I definitely want to be part of it, regardless of the collab's topic. I'd also love to see some creepy-ass-visuals being added in post-production to make the VHS seem like it's very old and been seen a lot.

at the very end of the collab it should say "it's time to stop fucking around. everyone on this planet needs to wake up and live a true life. do not delude yourself. also, we pulled this off. what else can we do, if it comes to that? better just smarten up" or something btw just to make people freak out and us laughing our asses off, if it does get somewhat big. AND PS MAYBE PEOPLE WILL ACTUALLY LISTEN.

How about a bunch of really short, really creepy collabs, like 30-60 seconds max. Release a whole slew of them, spam them everywhere.

we could throw old nintendo 64 cartridgeS at random houses and people would be all excited to see why someone is giving away their tony hawk's pro skater 2 or mario 64 or rayman 2 and then they'd put it in to play it or sell it on ebay but turns out it's just our collabs

We could make an audiobook and release 15 seconds of it on a cassette and then wait to see who finds the cassette and then spam them with numbered cassettes with only 15 seconds of audio each so they just show up on a pile on their door.

Quote from: redmongoose on March  1, 2013 11:48 AM
i like that audio book idea too mostly because i like the idea of just chucking cassette tapes at someones door

We could form cells in our individual cities. Us BackAlleyans make all this shit, blah blah. Each of us could have our own particular distribution methods according to the various peculiar distribution media with which we can work; tapes, homebrew 64 carts, vhs, false crime scenes with encrypted urls embedded in the dna of the blood left at the scene (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_B%C3%B6k#The_Xenotext_experiment), homebrew GameBoy carts, homebrew dereamcast discs.... etc etc. Once we have products en masse, we just get our friends together and do insane citywide mobs hitting every building possible with as many insane things as possible...

rather than do an actual stupid collab about burnt toast though, we make mindboggling creepy shit embedded with as many fucking subliminal images, ideas blahdy blhady blah as possible which will convey nothing but pure positivity. fight club but with an anarchy of peace.

I think the crazy plans for distribution are much more fun. Lets just do that.

can we get this thread retitled? can I do it? let's make this the official viral distribution concepts thread.

Could do it on columns, each frame on its own column. Then as you ride by on your house the passing columns and images create a zoetrope style effect.

Well I'm fine with it being letter-boxed on youtube. i could also scale it down while maintaining the aspect ratio.

you inspired me once and for a long time, but i got distracted by other things and lost track of what you were up to and really stopped being an artist of any sort. id been really interested in skullgirls for ages though, and then played it not that long ago and thought it was so fantastic, and the art so engaging, that I actually wanted to start drawing and writing and blah blah blah, so I did. then i came here and registered again after not having been around for four years to discover that you yourself were in part responsible for the urge to come back. it's neat like a little circle. or a mark twain quote.

discovering you worked on skullgirls, therefore, was something of a miracle in a coincidence for me.
it's also disgustingly sad because it just goes to show how much of a lazy apathetic slob I've been for four years.

the collab is for f. f is to toast. toast is burnf. burnf is to morbid as butter is to a cycling graphic of a guy jerking off onto toast, eating it, shitting it out, jerking off onto it again, eating it againf...

will newgrounds not allow me to upload it at those dimensions or does too weird actually mean too weird and nothing else? if so I don't see why we all can't just make a friendly challenge out of this and declare that the voting criteria be as follows:

/100
Relevance to the Tribulations and Woes, Worthy of those Befallen Unto Job by the Merciful and Generous Hand of the One True Lord, of Burnt Toast: /5
Artistic Technique, Insight and Personality: /5
Ability to make use of the insane aspect ratio in a manner which develops a meaningful connection between the observer and the observed: /90

Until this moment I had no idea rtil worked on skullgirls. This is one of the most incredible, and disgustingly sad, moments of my life. I actually watched that guy from his beginnings until not that long ago, then got engaged and stopped caring about anything at all, then was left by fiancee and continued to not care about anything at all, then met this other chick and cared about her and then got engaged again.... we'll see how that one ends... wait what was I saying?.... oh yeah anyway, I grew up with this guy and he's helped to create one of the greatest contemporary games and also helped to inspire me to take up art again and all the while I had no idea. History rhymes and shit,
